I’m a s-aging Geek. Yupp. I using s-aging, because that way you may just give me ten minutes of your time before you think I’m just ‘old.’ And…by the way…the word “Old” and “Senior” – kick them to the curb. The politicians and others with an agenda to make us less than we are, have deliberately attached negative meanings and connotations to those words. We are Wisdom Elders (my phrase), but in the old days – and my lineage is Irish/German – folks were not afraid to be Elders. They relished it. They were the ones who had lived experiences; knew what it meant to go through both troubles and good times. They were the Guardians of the oral history – and not the ones that are revised as needed and put into our ‘history’ books. They could be relied upon for giving sage advice. The Young knew where to go when they wanted/needed to hear the stories…of what was before…is now…and using their long powers of Reason and Observation as well, portend the Future.
Now, being Dumbed-Down is the order of the Day. The BiggiePiggies work to keep us uninformed and stooopid. It is to their advantage – and profit. We don’t have to allow them to do so. We can educate one another; grab a cup of something and share what we know. Down here in the Deep South, we meet for coffee at a local cafe; talk after church; after bowling; after shopping or taking the kids for a trip to the library rather than leave them to the internet of things all the time.
I’ve been broke and I’ve made money. I’ve lived in lovely homes and on the street. I talk a lot, but I’m a good listener. I also always strive to walk my talk. I grow my own food, write, care for my shelter pups; and been hooked on politics since my Dad (a decorated WWII veteran and a sharpshooter with medals) took me, at ten years old, to the local Democrat Ward, and I watched as the ward leaders would take the old Italian women into the booth with them and tell them how they would ‘help’ them decide for whom to vote on the old lever machines. I knew then something was up. My Dad explained a bit, and I was fascinated. That moment put me on the path to my degrees in Political Science and in Languages (I was determined to find out what those old ladies were saying about me in the Italian Bakery I was sent to as a kid every afternoon at 1630 for a couple loaves of scrumptious bread.)
So, if you’re interested, and you love conversation and being a patriot like Paul Revere, then follow me. Let’s chat. Let’s make the Country what we know it can be again. Let’s help the president and others move us forward…take it out of the hands of the BiggiePiggies and those who would take us backward. Let’s be Paul Revere.
Blessings and Belly Laughs.
Yes…
The British are coming. One if by land, two if by sea.

It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.

In the Fall of 1774 & Winter of 1775, I was one of upwards of thirty, chiefly mechanics, who formed ourselves into a committee for the purpose of watching the movements of the British soldiers, and gaining every intelligence of the movements of the Tories.
